Are we the right fit?
Are we the right fit?
Finding the right therapist matters. Part of that is being honest about who we work best with, so that you can find the support that is truly right for you. We may not be the right fit if you are currently:
- Experiencing thoughts of harming yourself or others, or suicidal thoughts
- Actively self-harming, or finding it difficult to keep yourself safe
- In crisis, or have concerns about your immediate safety
- Pregnant, or within the first year after giving birth
- Having significant difficulty taking care of yourself or getting out of bed
- Struggling with an eating disorder
- Using substances in a way that is significantly affecting your daily life or wellbeing
- Looking for a formal psychological assessment, report, or letter for use in legal proceedings, court, or educational settings such as an EHCP
This is not a judgement. These are simply areas where you deserve a level of specialist support that goes beyond what we are best placed to offer in a private online setting. If any of the above applies, we would gently encourage you to speak to your GP, who can help refer you to the most appropriate service.
We are committed to being honest about whether we are the right fit, both before therapy begins and as our work progresses. Occasionally, and always with care and transparency, we may feel that a different type of support would serve you better. If that is ever the case, we will explain why, talk it through with you, and do our best to help you find the right next step.
